What does this job entail?

At KBC we use a number of models for regulatory purposes and to support business decisions. These cover the domains of credit, markets, finance, treasury, asset management and insurance. This vacancy is for Insurance models for Solvency II and IFRS 17 purposes.

As a Model Validator for Insurance models, your core responsibility is to validate models, both qualitatively and quantitatively. You critically assess their design, challenge assumptions, and verify their performance. The result? Stronger, more reliable models that support sound decision-making across the organisation.

What do we expect from you?

• You validate models, independently from a to z.
• You present your findings to model owners, Actuarial Function Holders, Chief Risk Officers and Chief Financial Officers. Based on your analyses and your knowledge of regulations and business practices you give substantiated answers to the questions ‘Can we use this model? Does it do what it is meant to?’
• You are in frequent contact with stakeholders within the organisation, and sometimes also external parties like auditors and regulators. So you build an interesting network.
• You contribute to discussions regarding methodology.

Votre profil :

Your key strengths?

• You have a quantitative background, i.e., a master’s degree or PhD in actuarial sciences, (applied) sciences such as mathematics, physics, econometrics or engineering.
• You communicate effectively in English.
• Experience in Life and Non-Life Technical Provisions or reserves calculations is a valuable plus, but not required. We’ll provide training and coaching when you start.
• Good programming skills are an advantage.
• You’re not afraid to ask critical questions and dive deep into challenging topics.
• Giving clear advice on complex issues? No problem for you.
• You like to work independently. Always with respect for deadlines.
• Like your colleagues, you enjoy helping others and are eager to learn on the job.
• You look forward to having an impact on the model landscape of KBC Group.
